Sky Scan HD Doppler Radar is the latest, most advanced doppler radar network in the state of Connecticut. Instead of offering you only local radars, as most media outlets do, the Sky Scan HD Doppler Radar uses all NEXRAD radars, operated by the National Weather Service. This allows us to track not only our weather, but any weather that comes into the state. Using several different data providers, we can not only bring you the current doppler radar image, but temperatures, hail storms, storm tracks, mesocyclone signatures (potential tornado rotation), tornado vortex signatures (when tornados actually touch down), and much, much more. Lastly, when a tornado is detected on Sky Scan HD Doppler Radar, instead of having to guess where the tornado is, we pinpoint it for you down to the nearest street. In addition, we can pinpoint to the minute when it will affect your street, helping you prepare for impact.
